I know I haven’t posted in forever, but to make it up to you, here’s a beautiful doggy.

Dog days
Today was just not a good dog day. First, Rusty has serious stranger aggression issues. He obviously wasn’t well socialized as a puppy (he was a stray after all). He barks, growls, shakes and bites when strangers come over. I contacted a great dog behavorist/trainer today to see about a private consultation here at home. [...]
Or is it "doginality"?
As much as I hate the fact that my sweet little Rusty-bear has a perfect internal alarm clock and wakes up every morning at 6:00, it has been good for my morning productivity. I actually have time to feed and walk both dogs, put away clean dishes, eat some breakfast and pick out something to [...]
Brothers
Took Rusty to the vet yesterday to get his shots completed. The vet thought his incision looked a little red, so he gave us some antibiotics and had us buy an e-collar to keep Rusty from licking himself. He thinks he’s quite handsome. The boys get along just great. LOL
Home for good
I went and picked up Rusty-bear from his foster mom’s house last night. (He was neutered and microchipped yesterday morning at the rescue’s vet.) He was still pretty out of it when I got there — very snuggly and sleepy. Apollo was so excited to see him. Rusty’s not allowed to run and play for [...]
It’s June already?
I miss my Rusty-bear. I took him to his foster mom last evening, because she’s taking him to be neutered tomorrow. Poor little guy. I’m not sure if dropping him off was harder for him or for me. We had to take him to the vet over the weekend, but they did some tests and didn’t [...]
More pics
Here are some more pics of our newest prettyboy: He’s quite the little bully. He pesters Apollo, takes his toys, etc. and Apollo just waits patiently (and then gets his toy back when Rusty’s not looking LOL). It will be interesting to see how Rusty’s behavior changes after he’s neutered next week.
Our new addition
We’ve adopted a new son. He’s (of course) a miniature pinscher, and we got him from the Internet Miniature Pinscher Service (breed rescue group). A couple of months ago, he was found as a stray in Ft. Walton Beach. He’s such a sweet boy. We’ve decided to keep his name, “Rusty.” It just fits him. [...]
